Welcome to Fred L. Wilson, home of Freddy the Fox. My experience in education began in Cabarrus County where I worked as a teacher assistant, bus driver, and technology assistant. I worked full time and attended college in the evening while working towards my degree. I completed my student teaching internship at Kannapolis Intermediate School and was hired to teach sixth grade language arts and social studies. In 2014 I joined Fred L. Wilson as the Assistant Principal.

Educational Leadership Philosophy:

Leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned. It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated. It must be earned (Maxwell, 2007). Becoming a school leader is rewarding, yet challenging. Teachers and students need a leader that will chart the course and navigate accordingly. A leader must lead without leverage, yet hold high expectations of their staff and self. I believe all children can learn. Learning begins by developing positive relationships and setting high expectations. I believe Kannapolis City Schools has the most effective, caring teachers in the state.
