Welcome to My Physical Education Classroom

I am originally from New York and have been in this area for 15 years. This is my 14th year teaching elementary physical education at Fred L Wilson. I enjoy playing basketball, golfing, and working out. I coach lacrosse at A. L. Brown and like to watch NFL, college basketball, and Major League Baseball on television.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:

I am looking forward to working with students to improve their physical fitness, teach new sport skills/strategies and engage students in challenging games and activities. In addition, I want to encourage proper nutrition and a healthy body image for all students.  I am committed to helping every student achieve success and above all else making physical education fun for all.

Physical Education plays a vital role in society by helping students gain an appreciation for wellness, fitness, and participation in life-long physical activity.  My curriculum includes traditional games, individual and team sports, and physical fitness principles as well as allowing children crucial time needed to socialize appropriately and build cooperation/competition skills needed for not only future sports participation, but life in general.
For many children elementary physical education is the foundation from which they build a life full of healthy, active choices. I want each child to see that a healthy lifestyle can be achievable, rewarding, and fun.

This month:
Basketball and Bowling

Parent/Guardian Reminders:
Please have child(ren) wear tennis shoes and appropriate clothing on their PE day.

Allow students the opportunity for physical activity at home each day...and join them! Play, play, play!
