Hello, My Name Is...
My name is Emily Wolcott and this is my 8th year at Fred L. Wilson Elementary School. I am originally from Ohio, but moved to North Carolina in 2008. My first year at FLW was spent teaching 2nd grade, before moving into 3rd grade. I spent six years working in third grade. This past May, I completed my Master's in School Administration with a Curriculum and Instruction Specialist License. I am excited that, with that experience, I will be able to serve as the Instructional Data Coach for Fred L. Wilson this school year. I am excited about the opportunity of working with teachers to plan instruction to meet the needs of all of our learners.
Feel free to contact me by email or by school phone at (704) 932-8656.

I believe that children learn best in an environment that is friendly, collaborative, safe and full of opportunities. I also believe that it is important for the parents, the child, and the school to work together in order to boost student achievement.
Strategies for Success!
-Talk to your child every day about their time at school. Ask them about their day, what they did, who they played with.
-Stay in contact with your child's teacher through newsletters, student planners, email, conferences.
-Set time aside to make homework important. Work with your child if needed, but always allow them an opportunity to show you what they know!
