Things parents/guardians can do to help:
- Read with your child! Whether you let your child read independently,to you, or you read to him/her - it is so beneficial for students to be exposed to literature. Please read with your child every night.
- Check homework folders and planners each night for important information.
- Ask your child questions about what they are reading.
Who are the characters?
What is the setting?
What is the problem/solution?
What happened at the beginning, middle, or end of the story?
Why did the character _________ ?
Does this story remind you of anything you have read in the past?
How would you change this story if you could?
