Hello!  My name is Lisa Gurley.  I am a Kannapolis native and graduate of A.L. Brown High School. My husband Mark and I have two children, Jacob and Anna. I have been teaching children in Kannapolis for many years and have experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels. I actually began my teaching career as a dance teacher! Prior to teaching second grade, I also taught kindergarten and served as the technology facilitator here at Fred L. Wilson.  I am excited about the new school year and I hope you will visit our classroom here at Fred L. Wilson.   Please feel free to contact me any time by email or by phone at (704) 932-8656.  I look forward to meeting you soon!

Educational Philosophy/Vision:
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.  It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential by providing a safe learning environment that supports risk-taking and shared ideas.  For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth.  One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love for learning in my students as I share my own passion for learning with them.
